Designing and building a scale model of a late Gothic Italian cathedral. This project will take several years to complete. I'm building the interior and the exterior, all from scratch. I'm not using a kit.

Apse frescoes
The process
I use several different materials to get the final pieces for the cathedral. It can range from hand scribed brickwork on treated paper, to clay or wood. Whatever gives the most realistic effects. I then combine all the materials together and make a silicon mold. The pieces are then cast in white plastic, that I later hand paint.

Early unfinished version of the apse
Vaulted ceiling
Filling in the cracks and touching it up before I put the windows in.
A small section of another wall monument for the apse. This is the front of a sarcophagus
Late Gothic wall tomb
The upper section of the wall tomb. I added these little gothic florets to run up the sides withe a statue of the Virgin Mary emerging from them at the top.
Savonarola Chair
Savonarola chairs are basically a Renaissance folding chair.
A miniature framed painting of the Madonna and child.
